Mick Fanning is Retiring: You Won’t Believe How He Wants to Celebrate

| comments

Surf legend, shark-puncher and three-time world champion Mick Fanning followed up his retirement announcement with a second bombshell…

He’s offering one lucky winner the chance to get flown out to Australia to be his VIP at the final surf competition of his career—all to raise money for an incredible cause.

Use the promo code LIGHTNING at checkout to score 100 extra entries to win. And read on to find out why you’ll want to be there to celebrate Mick’s extraordinary career with him.

Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach

An Australian native, Mick first struck the competitive surfing scene (⚡) when he won the crown at 2001 Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach… as a wildcard. That competition sent a warning shot into the surfing world, suggesting that this 19-year old may well go on to make history. Spoiler alert: He did.

The Great White Lightning

Nicknamed “White Lightning” for his epic speed (and maybe his awesome blonde hair), Mick has cemented himself as one of the greatest surfers of our time. Besides earning three championships, he’s won 22 surfing events, overcome injuries that would have crippled lesser athletes and even, rather famously, fought a shark.

A Retirement and a Homecoming

It’s only fitting (like 30-for-30 level fitting) that Mick is returning to Bells Beach for his final competition. On Facebook and Instagram, Mick said the Rip Curl Pro is going to be, “a big fun party and you’re all invited to come.” And he means it.

You could win a trip to Australia to surf with Mick (don’t worry, beginners are welcome!), grab drinks and hang VIP at Bells Beach. The best part? It’s all to support the wonderful work of WildArk, a cause that’s near to Mick’s heart.

Here’s your chance to see why Mick is a legend on and off the board.
