You may not know Mike, but, if you’re reading our pages or watching our videos, you probably know his writing. Copywriter extraordinaire and recipient of the “Most Relaxed” superlative in high school, Mr. Prochaska enjoys books, the beach, Jack White and probably some other things too. Check him out!
What’s your motto?
Never be afraid to walk away.
What kind of things have you walked away from recently?
The most significant was a job that didn’t make me happy.
What advice would you give to your high school self?
Travel abroad. I’d want to go Europe sooner than I did.
When did you go?
Last year. It was incredible. I met some of my distant family and visited the church where my grandfather was baptized.
What’s your proudest accomplishment?
Publishing some short stories for Barnes & Noble. Look up Tom Oatmeal on Google; that’s where you can find them. It’s all humor. He drew this portrait of me:
What’s the last book you read?
The Broom of the System. I loved it. I’m currently reading Infinite Jest, which will likely take me all of Q1, but I love David Foster Wallace and so far it’s as fun as advertised.
What was the first book you remember reading?
Green Eggs and Ham.
What charitable cause are you passionate about?
BACA International. They’re bikers against child abuse. When kids have to testify against their abusers in court, they support them and pack the courthouse. It’s like having a family of badass dudes. I’ve read some super cool stories about them.
What was the first album you ever bought?
Soundgarden – Superunknown
The most recent album you bought?
Digitally? Hop Along’s Painted Shut. Physically: Jack White’s Lazaretto.
Best movie of 2015?
Mad Max: Fury Road
