What’s a Chief World Changer? An Omaze employee who goes above and beyond their daily work and embodies our company virtues (We Before Me, Grow Together, Take Ownership, Dream Giant, and Spread Joy).
Meet Angela. She’s our Recruiter and was nominated by her peers across the company to be recognized as Chief World Changer! Our team’s growing rapidly and Angela has worked hard to hire new employees with an incredible level of care and thoughtfulness. Because of her, our team is full of wonderful, enthusiastic people who are passionate about Omaze and our mission.
What’s your favorite thing about your job?
I get to work with extraordinary people every day. I truly love how working with the passionate and talented people at Omaze challenges me and makes me strive to be a better version of myself.
In your opinion, what does it mean to be a world changer?
Influencing the world around you in a positive way. It doesn’t always have to be monumental, as long as we leave the world just a little bit better than we found it that morning. This is a journey I am thrilled to be a part of each day.
What was your first job?
When I first came to America from Iran, I worked as a cashier at Jack in the Box and I could barely speak English. My best friend’s name at work was Esperanza and neither of us understood the other’s language!
What do you like to do for fun?
I would unconditionally travel anywhere at a drop of a hat. 🙂 I love the opera and all performing arts. I spend a significant amount of time at the beach and if it’s ever raining you’ll find me by a lit fireplace reading a book.
What’s one food you couldn’t live without?
I love everything savory and don’t like sweets or chocolate—I know it’s odd! The only food I can’t live without is fruit.
And finally, what’s your dream Omaze experience? (You know we had to ask!)
My dream Omaze experience would be to go on a camping trip with Tracy Chapman and Bruce Springsteen.
