Charity Update: Skate 2 School Scholarship Fund

| comments

Our campaign with Shane Dorian and Kelly Slater in Fiji made waves of impact for some incredible nonprofits, particularly the Skate 2 School Scholarship Fund. Powered by the Community Foundation for Brevard, you guys brought this fund to life. As a result of your contributions, Skate 2 School was able to offer their very first round of scholarships to six high school students. Amazing!

Envisioned by Robert “Scooter” Newell, Skate 2 School rewards top contenders of local skateboard competitions with college education scholarships. Because of you, they’ve already held two competitions in Florida, both of which awarded the top three skaters with scholarships from $500 to $1,000. The competitors, who range from 9th to 12th grade and hail from all over the country, can continuously earn these funds throughout high school. So if you’ve got the skills, there’s no stopping how much money you can make to put towards your future.

We love the idea of empowering these students with the ability to go out, hustle, do what they love, and put their talent to great use. The next competition is coming up in October, so for you high schoolers out there, brush up on those kickflips! We’ll be cheering you on from the sidelines.

A massive thank you to the Skate 2 School team for partnering with us, bringing your passion and spirit to the work, and helping these students skate their way to higher education.

You can live the dream too!

Check out our current experiences.
