The Always Sunny gang has a new addition—Dan W. from Ontario, Canada! Read all about his day on set with the jabronis.
What was it like being on set?
It was amazing. They showed us around, we met the cast and a bunch of the crew. It was a lot of fun. It kinda took me back how many people it actually takes to run a scene from a show. I was just really awe-struck. There were so many people, yet you only see two on the TV screen, there’s so much work behind it all that needs to be done. It was really interesting.
Was anything surprising when you got there?
I’ve been a fan of the show since it came out around 10 years ago, but I wasn’t sure what to expect. It was so much fun. I learned a lot more about the show, the cast, and the whole process in general.
Tell us about the scene you’re in!
I can’t give too much away, but I was in a scene with Danny Devito, Kaitlin Olson and Rob McElhenney.
What was it like watching the cast acting together?
That was actually one of the most interesting things to watch. Almost everything they say is improvised to some extent. It was really funny to watch because they kept trying to make each other laugh with different things. It would be the same general line, but they’d say it differently and try to screw each other up.
That’s great. Did they ever make you laugh on camera?
Oh, several times. I have a very good poker face, so I did my best to hold it in when we were taping, but I was laughing a lot.
Any particular highlight from the day?
The whole day was a highlight. It’s hard to just pick one moment. I got a picture of just me and Danny Devito, so that was probably one of the highest moments of the day.
Awesome! What was he like?
Super nice guy. Even when they weren’t rolling the cameras he was just walking around talking to all the extras. He even chatted with my girlfriend and I. It was nice to see such a large celebrity like that be so down to earth caring about his fans.
Congrats again, Dan, and thanks to everyone who donated to support Team Rubicon!
