Congrats to Steven who flew out to Los Angeles to hit up the Better Call Saul season 3 red carpet premiere! Keep scrolling to read all about what it was like watching the episode before it aired and attending the VIP after-party with the cast and crew.
Tell us all about the premiere!
It was incredible to see everyone. I spoke to Vince Gilligan for about 45 minutes. We talked about my book and career as an attorney. We talked about his career working on The X-Files and he told me some history about the hotel we were staying at. It was really cool talking about the show and what led him to write about Walter White, a character that has transformed so much.
What was it like walking the red carpet?
Very exciting. I really loved how it was all set up. There was of course the press and then there were all the fans getting autographs, but me and my guest were just right on the side. It was nice to be in the special spot where everybody would come up to us instead. We could sit back and enjoy the show and the party because we had already talked to everybody.
How was the premiere episode?
Excellent. It continues the pace of the previous seasons. It brought back some interesting moments from season 2 and minor characters you didn’t expect to address again. Just excellent scenes and writing.
How was the after-party?
I’ve never been to something like that. It was probably about 300 people, good food and all that. It was exciting to be in a room with such big fans of the show and family members of the cast. It was a lot of fun there, something I’ll definitely never forget. I’m still on a high from all of this.
Pick one highlight moment from the day.
I’m still trying to take it all in. What was really nice about talking to Vince Gilligan is after a while he turned to me and said, “I’m really glad you won.” It’s just really welcoming.
Anything to say to your fellow Omazers?
I still can’t believe it happened to me. It’s this big coincidence and I’m really thankful for it.
Sounds like an amazing night! Thank you to everyone for supporting Geffen Playhouse and Autism Speaks, two incredible causes.
